Files auto-deleted within 1 hour · no signup for basic use

How it works

Four calm steps.

  1. 01

    Drop your file

Drag the PDF you want to split onto the upload card, or click to pick it from your device. You can also paste a link to a file hosted online.

  2. 02

    Choose how to split

Custom ranges (1-10, 11-25, 26-end), every N pages, or automatically by top-level bookmarks.

  3. 03

    Preview before you commit

Check the outcome in the browser first. Reorder, remove, or re-run with different settings – nothing is final until you press download.

  4. 04

    Download the result

Save the ZIP of split PDFs to your device, share a temporary link, or send it straight to Google Drive or Dropbox. Files are wiped from our servers within one hour.

Why Split PDF

Built to be the last split pdf tool you try.

Bookmark-aware

Splitting by chapter uses the PDF's own outline, so nothing is chopped mid-section.

No re-encoding

Pages come out byte-identical to the original – no quality loss, no metadata rewrite.

Private by default

Uploads travel over TLS, files are encrypted at rest, and every trace is deleted within 60 minutes. We do not read, index, or train on your documents.

No signup required

The free tier handles most day-to-day work. You only create an account if you want history, larger files, or batch automation.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

Can I get one page at a time?

Yes – pick 'every 1 page' and you'll get a ZIP with one PDF per page.

Are bookmarks kept in the split files?

The bookmarks relevant to each range are copied over; the others are dropped.

Is PDF Books Lib really free?

Yes. The free tier covers everyday use – you can split several files per hour without an account. Pro unlocks larger uploads and batch jobs.

What happens to my files?

They live in an encrypted staging area for at most one hour, then they are permanently deleted. Nobody on our team can browse them.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in your browser against our servers – Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android are all supported.

Is No re-encoding free to use?

Yes. No re-encoding is free on the no-signup tier with no watermark added to your files. A paid plan only lifts batch and file-size limits for heavy users.

Do I need to install software or create an account for No re-encoding?

No. No re-encoding runs entirely in your browser - there is nothing to download and no account is required to get started.

Are my files private when I use No re-encoding?

Yes. Uploads travel over an encrypted connection, are processed in an isolated pipeline, and are permanently deleted from our servers within 60 minutes. We never read, index or train on your documents.

What is the largest file No re-encoding can handle?

On the free tier No re-encoding accepts files up to 100 MB. Larger documents are supported on the paid plan, or you can split a big file first.

Does No re-encoding work on mobile and every browser?

Yes - No re-encoding is fully responsive and works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android.

Will No re-encoding reduce the quality of my PDF?

No. No re-encoding rearranges pages without re-rendering them, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution.
