Security
Your documents. Nobody else's business.
A converter shouldn't need to know what's inside your PDF, and it certainly shouldn't hold on to it. Here's exactly how PDF Books Lib treats the files you send us.
Every upload and download runs over TLS 1.3. On our servers, files are stored on volumes encrypted at rest with AES-256.
The original file and every derived artefact are wiped from our storage no later than one hour after processing. Most disappear within minutes.
We never read, index, sample or train models on your files. Metrics we do collect (page counts, tool used) contain no document content.
We're a European operation and our data-handling practices are designed to comply with GDPR. You can request deletion at any time – although chances are, it already happened.
Where do the files actually live?
When you drop a file, it lands on an ephemeral, isolated worker in a European data centre. The worker holds it just long enough to run the conversion, hands the result back to your browser, and shreds both the source and the output as soon as the download link expires – one hour at the outside, but usually a lot sooner.
What logs do you keep?
We keep short-term operational logs of things like "PDF to Word ran, took 3.2 seconds, was 4 MB" – no filenames, no content. Access logs are rotated weekly and never leave our infrastructure.
Do you use my data to train AI?
No. The AI features (chat, summariser, translator) run against your file only for the duration of your session. Nothing is retained for model training, and nothing is sent to a third-party training pipeline.

If you need a signed Data Processing Agreement, a private tenant, or on-premises deployment, get in touch. We work with law firms, hospitals and public agencies on exactly this kind of setup.
